도심 속 아이들이 자연과 가까이할 수 있고 자유로운 유치원을 만들고자 했다. 아이들이 하루 중 가장 많은 시간을 보내는 공간인 만큼, 자연을 접할 기회를 최대한 늘리고, 답답하지 않게 열린 공간을 조성하는 것이 중요하다고 생각했다. 해당 부지는 앞으로 저수지, 양옆으로 수풀이 펼쳐진다. 이러한 장점을 활용하여 아이들이 언제든 자연을 느낄 수 있도록 설계했다.
The goal was to create a kindergarten where children in the city could be close to nature and experience freedom. Since kindergarten is where they spend most of their day, it was important to maximize their opportunities to connect with nature and design an open, spacious environment that feels free rather than confined. The site is surrounded by a reservoir at the front and greenery on both sides. Taking advantage of these natural elements, the kindergarten was designed to ensure that children can always feel connected to nature.
Concept
해당 부지는 가장 높은 곳과 낮은 곳의 높이 차가 3m로, 이를 활용해 두 개의 등하원 동선을 조성했다. 하나는 저수지 산책로와 연결돼 기분 좋게 자연을 통해 등하원할 수 있고, 다른 하나는 차도와 인접해 셔틀버스 및 차량 이용이 용이하다.
The site has a level difference of 3 meters between its highest and lowest points. Taking advantage of this, two different routes for drop-off and pick-up were created. One connects to the reservoir’s walking trail which makes a pleasant and nature-filled commute, while the other is close to the road, making it convenient for shuttle buses and cars.
저수지가 보이는 곳에 야외유원장을 배치하고, 3m 높이 차를 스탠드로 연결해 공간의 단절감을 줄였다. 또한, 각 층에서 자연을 쉽게 접할 수 있도록 건물의 일부 매스를 회전 배치해 테라스를 조성했다. 이 테라스는 야외 미술교실, 도서관 등으로 활용할 수 있으며, 계단과 스탠드를 통해 층간 이동도 편리하게 계획했다.
교실은 회전된 매스가 다른 매스와 겹치는 윤곽을 살려 계획했다. 다양한 모양의 교실의 영역은 복도와 겹치면서 다양한 공간감을 준다. 또, 교실은 벽이 아닌 아이들 눈높이의 가구로 분리하여 연결된 느낌을 주었다.
An outdoor playground was placed with a view of the reservoir, and a outdoor tiered seating was used to bridge the 3-meter height difference, creating a seamless connection between spaces divided by the building’s mass. Additionally, parts of the building were rotated to form terraces on each floor, ensuring easy access to nature. These terraces serve various functions, such as outdoor art classrooms and libraries, and are interconnected with stairs and Outdoor Tiered Seating for smooth movement between them.
The rotated masses were designed to overlap with others, shaping the outlines of the classrooms. The overlapping areas between the uniquely shaped classrooms and the hallways create a dynamic spatial experience. Additionally, instead of using walls, classrooms are divided by furniture at children’s eye level, fostering a sense of openness and connection.
아이들이 실내에서도 다양한 공간감을 느낄 수 있고, 비교적 오래 머무는 교실에서 답답함을 적게 느낄 수 있게 각 교실의 층고를 복도의 층고보다 높게 설정하였다. 복도에서 교실로, 교실에서 복도로 향할 때 다른 공간감을 느낄 수 있다.
To ensure that children experience a diverse sense of space indoors and feel less confined in classrooms where they spend a relatively long time, the ceiling height of each classroom was set higher than that of the hallway. This allows for a distinct spatial experience when moving from the hallway to the classroom and vice versa.
